Caersws Cup - Final Round Up
I didn't get to go up for this one, but the course was the same one used for the NPS the weekend before, and it looks like silly fun. Fast, steep in areas, pretty flowy and jumpy - not overly technical apart from a few bits. And it was bone dry...again! I can't find hardly any photos apart from Ryan and Tom's - thank goodness the RG guys have got stuff covered!
While all the team results were good, Elliot Senior shined brightest and fastest, sitting 2nd place all weekend and taking 2nd overall in the series! This is a massive result, especially considering he only attended 3 of 4 cups, meaning there was no margin for error (best 3 counted). It shows incredible consistency to "Mr. Sketch's" riding and almost guarantees that he will move up to the insanely fast Expert class next year.
Elliot Jr also had a good weekend, but the Juvie class is more competitive at the Caersws Cup than the Pearce. He went a big 5 seconds quicker on his second run and wound up 5th on the day and 8th in the series, which are very solid results. He also missed one of the cups earlier in the year.
This was Andy H's first race back after his kidney trauma at RG last month. Such was the bruising and swelling that he had to take a month off, and Andy is not one to let injuries stop him. He wasn't too happy with his result at 18th, but wound up 8th in the series in Senior class, which is a very respectable result.
Besides the Squadron, there was a good turn out from RG regulars, so I've included most of the results I could find below. Worth mentioning is Sam Maddison's 9th place result in his first race...you can catch two shots of him in Ian's video at the bottom and he is going bonkers fast! I can't wait to talk to him and find out how his runs went.
