Pearce Rd 2: Bringewood

Mick Whyte and Jim Lycett attended round 2 of the Pearce Cycles series at Bringewood on the 8th May.

Saturday practice was so wet, rainy and slippy/unrideable at the top that they had to cut a completely new line in during practice - the old school way.  We simply moved any big logs and debris and rode it in through the mulch.  Sweet.  This new line was not exactly easy in the conditions but at least you could ride it.  The rest of the track was pretty much standard for Bringewood except the new bottom section into tabletop which had been altered.

Jim and some of the other Racersguild boys knocking loads of runs in and they were all looking pretty quick by the end of Saturday
The track was pretty much a wet mud tyre ride all the way through rainy Saturday. More heavy rain Saturday night and Sunday morning saw most people stick with the mud tyres for the early practice and first runs although it did dry out towards the end of the first run session.

On Mick's first run, he crashed twice, the only falls of the weekend and finished 9th, but 4th fastest through the speed trap showed that he had more to give in finals.
A change to dry tyres for the second run as the sun showed its face meant for a faster track.
A bit of a moment over a triple aside, Mick held it together to find two extra places and take 7th in Veterans.

Meanwhile, Jim Lycett was killing his way through the ultra competitive Junior class, scoring valuable points arriving home in 14th place, putting all the www.readytoridecycles.co.uk tech to good use!
